Modest Mouse, Ladyhawke and Fat Freddy’s Drop have been added to the line-up for Auckland City Limits, which takes place in March.
Organisers of the festival, which is being headlined by Kendrick Lamar and The National, made a second line-up announcement this morning, and confirmed that Kamasi Washington, Broods and Jarryd James would also be heading our way. They’ll join a bunch of previously-announced acts including US rapper Action Bronson, country singer Sturgill Simpson, indie act Cold War Kids, and blues-rock musician Grace Potter
The event takes place across four stages at Western Springs Stadium on Saturday March 19 and takes after the well-known event Austin City Limits, which launched back in 2002. It’s being organised by Campbell Smith’s company CRS, which was behind the Auckland leg of the Big Day Out festival. They’ve partnered with Live Nation and C3 Presents to bring the event to New Zealand.
So far 25 of 40 acts to play at the one-day festival have been confirmed. A final announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
