But What So Not is!

In another installment of "nice one, Australia", Young Thug is no longer coming to Auckland’s Laneway festival, with organisers offering refunds to those who may have bought tickets specifically to see the US rapper perform.

According to a statement released by Laneway organisers, complications with the visa process in Australia mean the Atlanta rapper won't be playing any Laneway Festival dates this year.

Not that's it's any consolation, but he did have his New Zealand visa.

Set to appear in the wake of releasing his album JEFFREY last year, the visit would have been Young Thug’s first. Organisers say that they are “deeply disappointed”.

With Young Thug no longer on the bill, the rap and hip hop contingent is diminished but not lost, and will be nobly represented with sets by fellow American’s Mick Jenkins and Clams Casino, who, presumably, Australia have no qualms with.

As one is lost one is gained however, and Sydney-based electronic act What So Not is taking a break from recording his full-length debut album to pop over and play some bangers in what will surely be a trial run for his upcoming Coachella appearance.

It is not the first time Young Thug has flaked on something ...

... but let's give him the benefit of the doubt.

Should you be so saddened by this news that you no longer have the will to attend Laneway, fear not. Refund requests will be open for a limited period to those who bought tickets between 9pm on Wednesday 7th December - when Young Thug was announced - and 2:30 on Wednesday 18th of January.

If you take this option (and don’t think you’ll get mean FOMO later) contact Moshtix where a handy dandy Young Thug refund request awaits. Get in quick though as the refund request period will only be open for 72 hours, from now until 2:30 on Saturday 21st January.
