THE ELECTION THAT WON’T DIE
It’s been a week since the election ostensibly took place and yet, you may notice, no new government has been elected in the strict sense of the word.
How much of a wait? How long is a piece of string? How many angels can dance on the head of a pin? How much more of this hellish democratic process can we endure before the impending war between North Korea and America wipes away any thought of such folly?
So maybe like, another week.
RIP TOPSHOP
Remember when Topshop opened on Queen Street and everyone queued up outside and the whole place was crammed and a DJ played bad music too loudly while you bravely fought the horde to thumb through rack after rack of almost-reasonably priced polyester jumpsuits?

Well just two short years later those days are over and, with the New Zealand branches of the chain having gone into receivership, the Auckland and Wellington stores are scheduled to be dunzo by the weekend.
Goodbye Topshop, you offered okish goods at occasionally okish prices and I dread to think what they’ll try to do with the space on the corner of Queen Street and Wellesley.
GUY WILLIAMS COURTS CONTROVERSY
Comedian and ~social commentator~ Guy Williams tweeted a picture of political columnist John Armstrong along with a hot-take re. the accompanying photo.
Unfortunately (and perhaps unbeknownst to Williams?), Armstrong has suffered from Parkinson’s disease for nearly 20 years and it's maybe not so chill to make fun of the way he looks in a small author photo. Anyway, people are mad, especially Matthew Hooton who would never say such an insensitive thing in his life.
Update: Williams has removed the tweet and apologised.
I've deleted my tweet about an unusual photo of John Armstrong in the Herald. It was not at all supposed to be aimed at his disease!? Sorry.

MAX KEY GRADUATES
It’s been a big week for everyone’s favourite scamp, Max Key: His daddy’s former party maybe-won the election; he coined the phrase/hashtag ‘Key-wees’; and he graduated!
That’s right, sweet Max is a man now with a conjoint degree in commerce and property. Wow! What a clever little chap he is.
