There were two different bills focussed on global warming being debated by Parliament this week. They book-ended both the week and the process.
One of them was just beginning its life before the House while the other was completing it. One began the first day and the other began the last. Symmetry.

These are the two snappily named bills:
- The Climate Change Response (Emissions Trading Reform) Amendment Bill,
- The Climate Change Response (Zero Carbon) Amendment Bill.
