One person has died following a crash in Northland on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a section of State Highway 1 in Maromaku about 1.15pm.
One occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene of the single vehicle crash, which then caught on fire.
The Serious Crash Unit attended and an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
