Former 1970s pop star Garry Glitter is under arrest in Britain as part of an investigation into the late television presenter Jimmy Savile.
Glitter, 68, has been previously questioned over possessing child pornography. He was convicted and sentenced to prison in Vietnam in 2006 for sexually abusing children.
Sky News and the BBC showed images of him leaving an apartment in central London and being driven away just after 7am on Sunday.
Scotland Yard is following 400 lines of inquiry into Savile, who died in October last year aged 84. He was lauded as a "national treasure" who raised millions of pounds for good causes.
