Firefighters in New South Wales have been videoed looking extremely happy as welcome rain pours on the fire ravaged ground around them.
The Leongatha Fire Brigade posted a video on Facebook of four firefighters and a local standing under makeshift shelter with huge grins on their faces in the pouring rain.
The crew had travelled from Victoria to help battle the blazes in NSW.
The brigade said it was the crew from Rollands Plains in NSW with some happy locals who had been on edge for more than a month.
It said non-firefighter who features in the video is a local who has been helping to cook meals for the firefighters and those forced from their homes.
Heavy rain in Glen Innes in New South Wales was also welcomed.
The New South Wales Rural Fire Service tweeted that from 8 November until yesterday 663 homes had been destroyed with more than 9000 buildings saved.
It said that there was a very high fire risk along the New South Wales coast today.
Today will see Very High fire danger along the coast of NSW. There are no total fire bans in place. Stay up to date and monitor conditions. #nswrfs #nswfires pic.twitter.com/cEF102XdvT
