Victoria has recorded 1488 new cases of Covid-19 and two deaths, marking the highest ever daily increase in cases for the state.
It brings the total number of deaths for the current outbreak to 46.
The cases were detected from 71,224 test results, and bring the state's total number of active cases to 11,591.
It also marks the state's highest daily testing figure, following a push for all students scheduled to take the GAT on October 5 to get tested before sitting the exam.
Some 36,878 doses of vaccine were administered at state-run sites.
In New South Wales, 813 new locally acquired Covid cases were reported overnight, with ten deaths - six men and four women.
One person was in their 50s, three people were in their 60s, two people were in their 70s, three people were in their 80s, and one person was in their 90s.
There are currently 1005 people in NSW in hospital, with 202 in intensive care and 99 requiring ventilation.
Queensland reported two new Covid cases in home quarantine.
Authorities said the cases were two children, both linked to Brisbane's aviation cluster.
