The United States has agreed in principle to deploy Predator Drones on Turkish soil to assist in the fight against Kurdish rebels.
Prime Minister Recip Tayyip Erdogan says Turkey has offered to buy or lease the drones and details were being worked out.
Deutsche Welle Radio reports Turkey previously used Israeli drones, but that ended when ties were severed with Israel after a fatal raid on a Gaza convoy in May last year.
