When the patriarch of the family, Denis, dies, middle-aged doctor Peter Fahey and his youngest child, superstitious and ritual-obsessed Scarlett, must come to terms with their grief and their relationship with the cantankerous old man. Scarlett must also navigate and make sense of the other life bombs detonated around her by the rest of her family: her siblings, Mary, Harley, and Jasper, and cousin Paul, as they face their own set of trials and tribulations.
