Lillian Hanly has a 50/50 chance of inheriting Huntington’s, a neurodegenerative disease. With a number of her family testing positive for the gene, and her mother already affected by it, she must come to a decision: get tested now or live on in the unknown.

Lillian Hanly (Director)
Lillian Hanly was raised in Tāmaki Makaurau in a bicultural family, a worldview that very much informs all the work she does.
In 2017, she completed her Masters degree in Film, Television and Media Studies and since then has been the News and Editorial Director at 95bFM, worked part-time for Showtools as a creative producer, and been a research assistant at GFC Films.
Last year she worked for The Hui, and, now based in Pōneke, is the Political Producer for TVNZ.
Sara Shirazi (Producer)
Sara Shirazi is a producer working in theatre, film and TV.
She was the 2017 Basement Theatre Producer in Residence and over the last six years has produced a number of highly successful theatre shows.
Most recently Sara has worked on popular kids stop-motion animation TV show Kiri and Lou, RNZ documentary This Is Us commemorating the Christchurch attacks and theatre show Standard Acts at Basement Theatre.
Fifty Percent is part of a collection of eight Loading Docs short documentaries.
