Merepeka Raukawa Tait is a former Chief Executive of New Zealand Women's Refuge and Hospice West Auckland. She was a business owner, a long serving member of the Lakes District Council and the Rotorua District Council. For most of the 1970s she lived in Zurich Switzerland where she learned to speak German and if you fast forward to 2022 she became a beauty queen at the age of 73. She's a woman of many talents and in terms of leadership because she says it's an area in which Aotearoa has been ill served in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
