The new version of the beloved British TV series fails to reach the heights of the original but everyone involved seems to be having fun.

More on Dad’s Army

Back in March last year, inspired by the news of this new film, Sounds Historical’s Jim Sullivan dug out an old RNZ interview with Captain Mainwaring himself (Arthur Lowe) when he was in New Zealand touring a show in 1980:

Arthur Lowe’s son Stephen lives in Timaru and spoke to Morning Report in April 2014 about the news that Toby Jones would be taking on the character made famous by his father:

Clive Dunn (Corporal Jones in the original series) passed away in 2012 and Sounds Historical found an interview that Selwyn Toogood had done with him for RNZ back in the 1970s:

Graeme Tuckett at Stuff is also doing video reviews now. Here's his take on Dad’s Army.
