Push for municipal elections fails in Fiji parliament

An attempt by Fiji's opposition to have local government elections this year has failed.

Elected municipal councils were abolished more than a decade ago under military rule, and the government says that won't change until laws are reviewed.

The issue has been the subject of debate in parliament this week, as Sally Round reports.
