UK - NZ Free Trade Agreement talks ramping up

From Morning Report, 8:30 am on 7 May 2021

Talks between the UK and New Zealand over a Free Trade Agreement are ramping up.

The UK is New Zealand's sixth largest trading partner, with two-way trade worth nearly $6 billion in 2019.

Discussions over a Free Trade Agreement have been in progress ever since the UK left the EU, and the fourth round of negotiations concluded last week.

Both sides are looking to intensify the talks, with a firm agreement is hoped for in the coming months.

British High Commissioner Laura Clarke spoke to Corin Dann.
