Mint’s husband, Jeich Ould Chighaly is an extraordinary guitarist whose rich emotive psychedelic open-tuned guitar lines perfectly complement her astonishing vocals. Together with the band's tight rhythm section they create a sound that is genre-defying.

Noura Mint Seymali is arguably Mauritania’s most widely exported musical act of all time, and it's fair to say that while very few people in the audience were previously aware of her music or pedigree, by the end of her show at the TSB Bowl they were enthralled.
She's a musician who could be considered as one of the most exhilarating and uncompromising discoveries of the Womad weekend.
