    Wolfgang and his father made an important trip to Italy at this time. Mozart was fourteen, hitting adolescence, and could no longer be regarded as a child prodigy. On this trip he encountered some of the world's leading professional musicians, graduating with a music diploma in Bologna and another in Verona, and earning the respect both of cultured patrons and fellow-professionals. He also obtained his first major commissions and gained a new name (RNZ)
