Music of the Baroque Christmas Special
Peter Van De Graaff hosts this brass and choral holiday concert featuring music of the 16th- and 17th-centuries by such composers as Praetorius, G Gabrieli, Pygou, Titov, Buxtehude, Zielenski, and others
Diverse in nationality, temporality and musical style, the stories the pieces in this programme tell are nonetheless similar in their message. Many are related to the Christmas narrative, shedding light on different facets of the tale, while others offer a timely reminder that the wonder and awe the season inspires can last the entire year
The brass ensemble, Music of the Baroque and choir are conducted by Edward Zelnis (WFMT)
