    Last month the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra held its annual Composers' Workshop. This year, six composers - David Hamilton, Anthony Ritchie, Jeff Lin, Anthony Young, Penny Dodd and Matthew Crawford - had written vocal works which would be worked on by NZ Opera Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artists and the orchestra with conductor Hamish McKeich. William Dart attended the workshops and talked to the composers, singers and conductor.
