    Mongolian Sounds: Egschiglen

    Egschiglen is a Mongolian folk ensemble formed in the early 1990s by students from the Conservatiore of Ulan Bator. The ensemble plays traditional pieces and works by contemporary Mongolian composers on a range of traditional instruments including the morin khuur (horse-head violin), joochin (dulcimer), and tobshuur (swan neck lute). Added to this is the distinctive sound of khoomii, a special kind of throat-singing (ARC Music EUCD 1652; Heaven and Earth HE17)
