7:00 PM. Classic Concerts
Three programmes
(3) UB40: Live at Montreux 2002
UB40 formed in 1978 as a working class political group, naming themselves after the British unemployment benefit form - a ub40. Over the ensuing years they have moved away from their trademark left-wing politics to become more of a pop reggae covers band. They have had more top 40 hits than any other reggae act and have popularized the genre more than any of the artists they cover. This concert features material from throughout their 14-year career to this 2002 recording date, ranging from the politically charged One in Ten, to the soulful US No 1 hit Red Red Wine and the funky Rat in My Kitchen (Rajon CDR 1085)
