  • 8:00 PM. Live @ Hopetoun Alpha

    Dimmer

After an excellent but brief reunion of his 1980s band Straitjacket Fits, guitarist/songwriter Shayne Carter was convinced to re-apply the classic four-piece rock line-up to his new work as Dimmer, the name Carter has been using for his solo output since '95. With the release of the third Dimmer album There My Dear in 2006, Carter enlisted the help of drummer Dino Karl along with bass player Kelly Steven and guitarist James Duncan to take the show on the road

Shayne Carter says this band is "Dimmer at its space rockingest best". RNZ was there to capture the show at Hopetoun Alpha in Auckland. It was a night awash with fuzzy guitars, swirling rhythms, and solid bass lines. Listen out for some classic Carter tunes thrown in with the newer ones (RNZ)
