    Indigenous music from around the world

    Tamburising - Söndörgő

    Today on Global Sounds we feature the tambura, a small mandolin-like instrument played in Hungary's Serbian and Croatian communities. In fact, we've music from a tambura ensemble. Söndörgő (formed in 1995 by the four Eredics brothers and their school friend Attila Buzás) play a range of traditional songs and dances from the Balkans. "This music is our mother tongue," say the band, "The aim is to speak this language so that everybody can understand it today" (World Village 450017)
