He grew up in Glasgow and at an early age he was hooked by the music of Sibelius. These programmes recount episodes in Walker's life and the powerful effect that Sibelius had in them

    In 1996, self-confessed Sibelius junky, Marshall Walker made a pilgrammage to Finland to visit the places of significance to Sibelius: his birthplace in Hämeenlinna, Ainola his home at Järvenpää, Koli in North Karelia - inspiration for much of his music - and Sibelius Monument in Helsinki. This programme is an expression of thanks to the composer for a life's enrichment (RNZ)
