Music from Malawi and Madagascar in today's Global Sounds. Hanitra Ranaivo is a singer from Madagscar who draws from the island's traditional tunes and rhythms. And from Malawi, a tiny, land-locked country in southeast Africa, we've songs from The Malawi Mouse Boys. This group of young singers takes their name from how they make their living when not playing music - they sell mice on sticks as snacks to passing travellers (ARC 624662; IRL 557209)
