    Columbia Competition

To mark the centenary of the death of Schubert the 'Columbia Graphophone Company of Great Britain' held a much-publicised competition for composers to submit a completion of Schubert's 'Unfinished' Symphony.

Steve Danby presents music by many of the entrants - who are as offbeat a bunch of composers as you could ever wish for, including some who've never been heard on RNZ Concert before. (And at least one who will never be heard again.) (RNZ)
