An opposition party in Fiji can continue with its legal challenge against the Registrar of Political Parties after a court ruling this morning.
The Fiji Times reports the High Court in Suva has refused an application to strike out the National Federation Party's appeal against its suspension from parliament in February.
The application was made by lawyers from the Attorney General's Chambers representing the Registrar of Political Parties, Mohammed Saneem.
The party is challenging the registrar's findings that the party was in breach of the Political Parties Decree over an auditing matter.
The High Court Judge Lyone Seneviratne said the court would proceed with hearing the case on September 29.
