2:47 pm on 3 March 2017

Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen has accepted the credentials of Tuvalu's new Ambassador to Taiwan, Limasene Teatu.

Thanking Tuvalu for its continuous support for Taiwan's bid to join the United Nations, Tsai said that it's been 38 years since diplomatic relations were established between the two.

Tsai said Taiwan will help Tuvalu achieve the goal of being powered entirely through renewable energy by 2020 as a way to participate in the global effort for sustainable development.
