Mangere-Otahuhu local board urged to do more about crime

From , 6:00 am on 9 July 2021

The Tonga Youth Trust is accusing the Mangere-Otahuhu Local Board of turning a blind eye to a spike in crime in their community.

30 arrests, a drug bust and someone being hit by a car right outside the Auckland offices of the Tonga Youth Trust have prompted young leaders to take action.

Late last month the Trust told local board members they were letting crime rise without considering what they might be able to do about it.
