Next month marks the anniversary of the eruption of Mount Tarawera near Rotorua. Heard in Blenheim and Auckland and felt as far afield as Christchurch, the 1886 eruption is still one of the largest ever to occur in this country. Two of the survivors recorded their memories for radio and producer Justin Gregory has collected them here.
