New Zealand is set to get a new Māori science academy. The Massey Science Academy - Pūhoro, is the first of its kind, and will open next year. It will work with Māori secondary school pupils from year 11 through to university and, ultimately, the work force. Naomi Manu is the Assistant Director of Academies.

Behind some of the biggest names in the early days of rock and roll, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ike Turner, B.B. King and Johnny Cash is a name that is not as easily recognized :Sam Phillips. He discovered the talent, and developed the sound that black blues artists started and white artists adapted. Music historian and journalist Peter Guralnick tells the story of the founder of Sun Records and his legacy in his book, Sam Phillips: The Man Who Invented Rock 'N' Roll.
