1:20 Dating game inspired by Bird of the Year

A Masters student at the university of Otago has created a video game based on New Zealand's beloved Bird of The Year competition.

It's a dating simulator called 'The Ugly Club' and features a selection of local fauna as characters

Asia Martusia King submitted the game as part of her Master of Science Communcation degree, and tells Jesse how it works.

Earlier this week he went on his monthly 42km Port Hills bike ride, geotagging the species he came across on the way.

1:50 Tapping into a truck driving think tank

A new is competition being run in conjunction with NZ Trucking Magazine and Resilienz - which asks Truck Drivers for their thoughts on addressing climate change from what they see each day in places most people will never go to. 

Resilienz director Lindsay Wood joins Jesse to tell us about the aptly named competition, Trucking Towards A Better Future.
