1.15 Getting more young South Auckland rangitahi working with nature

The Sustainable Business Network is working with the Milford Foundation to encourage more young South Auckland people to get involved with working in nature.

With funding secured for the next two years the hope is that up to 50 local rangitahi can be trained through the project transforming the Puhinui Stream and surrounding area.

Piet Tuinder, the Nature Programme Manger for the Sustainable Business network talks to Jesse about connecting the local rangitahi with the nature around them.

1.35 Baby teeth can predict weight gain in adolescents

Researchers at Otago University have found that weight gain in teens can be predicted by looking at baby teeth.

Dr Carolina Loch from the university's faculty of dentistry explains that the body's biological clock is is imprinted inside milk teeth. They have discovered a link between the markers on the teeth and weight gain later in life.
