2:30 Expert feature: the science of food!

Every week when you visit the supermarket to pick up the family's favourite sauce or ice cream, you should say a big internal thank you to the food scientists that made it happen.

so today we wanted to learn a bit more about the work they do.

Our expert today is food technologist Alan Bulmer, who is the general manager of technical and strategy at Hawkins Watts.

He's been in the industry for over 30 years in a variety of roles.

3:10 Managing teens on screens

Scrolling through social media on a smartphone is like picking at a scab; we know it's a bad idea but we do it anyway.  This is how psychologist Dr Tara Porter sees the issue of  screens and teens. Content on social media can induce self-judgement and anxiety in our teenagers. But it can also connect us to friends, information and resources. Dr Porter says we need to help our teens recognize for themselves when their phones are hurting and when they're helping by giving them skills to take control of their own mental well-being.
