3:35 Nau Mai Town: Huntly/ Rāhui Pokeka

Huntly is a popular through fare if you're heading North to Auckland - or it's a  twenty minute drive to Hamilton.  In the late 1800's postmaster James Henry named the town 'Huntly'  after his beloved hometown of the same name in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and from 1877 it stuck.  But the original name Rāhui Pokeka is based on a story about a rangatira, Te Putu.
