NIWA's new multi-million dollar research vessel has arrived in the country and has already been put to work. Over the next 3 weeks the Kaharoa II will film the seafloor of the Hauraki Gulf using state-of-the-art camera systems the survey will provide important insights into one of our most valued coastal spaces.

NIWA's ship technical director Greg Foothead runs Jesse through their work and the ship itself.

Brad Maclachlan received the Civil Aviation Authority Director's commendation award this week for designing a system that will save lives. His system helps pilots assess if a door is closed properly in Hughes 500 helicopters.
