The best Xmas loaf in Aotearoa

A North Canterbury bakery has taken out the top spot at the Baking New Zealand Christmas Competition for its traditional Christmas loaf.

Artisan by Rangiora Bakery's winning stollen is a family recipe of its general manager, Frank Janssen.

Judges described the stollen as well-balanced, excellent shaping and a fantastic almond log.
