Next week, five budding horticulturists from around the motu will battle it out for the coveted title of Young Horticulturist of the Year.
They come from five sectors: growing, viticulture, plant producers, arboriculture and amenity.
One of the finalists, Kyla Mathewson – who has come out top in the amenity sector – speaks to Jesse.
