Ngā Taonga Sound Archives: Polish refugee children arrive in Pahīatua
Last weekend marked the 75th anniversary of the arrival in New Zealand of over 700 Polish child refugees during World War II. Commemorations were held at Pahīatua, the site of the camp which was home to the children in 1944. In today’s visit to the sound archives of Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision, we will hear radio programmes about the children and the warm welcome they received.
