Simon Morris glances at this week’s British Film Awards - the Baftas - and previews the upcoming French Film Festival, New Zealand’s second-biggest celebration of cinema.
This year there are 36 films - contemporary comedies, dramas, musicals and a few classics of the past.
Dorothée Basel, the Festival’s director, talks about some of the highlights, including the thriller 150 Milligrams, the comedy Max & Leon, St Amour, starring Gerard Depardieu, and the bizarre Slack Bay, starring Juliette Binoche as you’ve never seen her before!
