Former Dunedin doctor Venod Skantha will spend almost two decades behind bars before he is even eligible for parole for the murder of teenager Amber-Rose Rush.
The 32-year-old was sentenced to life imprisonment in the High Court this afternoon. But as Timothy Brown reports, he maintains his innocence and is already planning an appeal.
