Police are stopping every vehicle heading in and out of the Auckland region to try and stop the virus spreading any further.
There are nine checkpoints on the city's fringes, and only people who usually live in Auckland, or who are travelling to get home can come into the city.
People who want to leave the city are only able to do so if they're headed home.
