The Attorney General says a High Court ruling that New Zealand's level 4 lockdown was unlawful for nine days, validates what it did in the early stages of the lockdown.
Lawyer Andrew Borrowdale had argued that the Director-General of Health went beyond his powers when he put the country into full lockdown in March.
The High Court has ruled from March 26 to April 3, the requirement for people to stay in their bubbles was justified, but unlawful.
However, it says a new order introduced on April 3 corrected that.
David Parker told reporters the ruling means the government doesn't need to take any further action.
