Some New Zealanders have not waited for an Australian travel bubble before taking holidays across the ditch - with about 27 people heading there and back over Christmas and New Year.
They are among at least 424 New Zealanders who have taken return trips overseas in the past year and ticked 'holiday/vacation' on their departure card, in spite of a "do not travel" advisory from the government.
