Huge need for EVs if NZ is to meet emissions targets

At least one in five New Zealanders need to be driving an electric car in the next 15 years, and almost all buses and thousands of trucks need to run on batteries, if we're to meet our emissions targets.

And as much as possible - people need to get out of their cars completely.

The Minister of Transport warns if New Zealand does not move quickly, it risks becoming a dumping ground for other countries' dirty vehicles.
