Growing stone fruit at Waitaki Orchards is a family affair. Justin and Julie Watt bought the 34-hectare property in 2003 and their six children all learnt how to prune, pick and pack.

Their 27-year-old daughter Ellen (above) manages the orchard now with some of her siblings. She's also developed a range of fruit sorbets that are made on site and sold in New World supermarkets around the South Island.
