Willis: Luxon's comments on youth, garages out of context

It now seems far from certain whether the proposed merger of RNZ and TVNZ will go ahead after the Prime Minister said Cabinet will be looking at where to trim back over summer when asked about the deal. We discussed Jacinda Ardern's comments and the merger in general with the deputy leader of the National Party Nicola Willis. But our producer Matthew Theunissen began by asking what her leader Christopher Luxon meant when he said gang life might look attractive to youth congregating in south Auckland garages. Are teenagers more likely to become involved with gangs if they hang out in garages???
