New Zealand's stock market has ended its first day of trading for the year in the red, following a global sell off caused by concerns about China's slowdown and tensions in the Middle East. That's after Wall Street suffered its worst start to a new year in more than 80 years, while European markets also tumbled overnight. Stock markets in China have recovered after opening more than three per cent down on Tuesday, prompting a trading freeze. A wealth management adviser at First NZ Capital, Don Lewthwaite, joins us now.
