Dob in water wasters, says council
Residents in the Waikato and Waipa are being urged to conserve water, and dob in their neighbours that don't, as tighther restrictions are put in place. From tomorrow, those living within the Hamilton City, Waikato District and Waipa District Councils will only be allowed to use their sprinklers and watering systems on alternate days, for two hours each morning and evening. The general manager of service delivery at the Waikato District Council, Tim Harty, says conserving water is increasingly important, especially in the worst affected areas of Ngaruawhahia and Tuakau where water takes are reaching the maximum allowed under consent.
