Children's commissioner urges people to listen to their children
The Children's Commissioner Andrew Becroft is passionate about improving the wellbeing of New Zealand children and believes one way of doing that is to listen more carefully to their concerns. He says at present the breakdown of how our children are doing works out at about 70 - 20 - 10, meaning 70-percent of our children are doing really well, 20-percent are struggling with disadvantage and 10-percent live in environments and face challenges that are as bad, if not worse, than that experienced by children in other western countries.
